Chinese man caught stealing cash from ATM

Twenty-nine-year-old Wang Xiaolon, was arrested from an ATM booth of Mega Bank in Jyatha, Thamel, yesterday at around 5:30pm.

A team of police from Metropolitan Police Circle in Durbarmarg and Metropolitan Police Range in Kathmandu had received information about possible theft by hacking a few days ago from various sources. After receiving a phone call from the bank about possible swindling, police had immediately reached the site. The man was arrested from the ATM booth.

The police range issued a press release today saying that Xiaolong had illegally hacked the Keyboard PIN numbers of ATMs of various banks.

The police, however, have not said how much money he had already stolen.

After arresting him, police had gone to his room at Hotel Montys where he was residing. Police there found seven ATM Cards called 'Magerty VIP' and three more ATM cards of Union Pay along with some electronic devices. Police, however, did not find much money. Police are investigating further.
